New webservice automates SSL-orders at EPAG

SSL certificates are now standard for every e-commerce website and should be part of the service portfolio offered by any hosting provider. A new interface now simplifies the deployment of SSL certificates for those providers significantly.
SSL certificates are now standard for every e-commerce website and should be part of the service portfolio offered by any hosting provider. A new interface now simplifies the deployment of SSL certificates for those providers significantly.
While with many SSL vendors, ordering SSL certificates still involves manual effort, EPAG offers this service easy to use and fully automated. A new SOAP-based webservice now enables EPAG customers to order or renew SSL certificates from different Certificate Authorities via an API.
Products available through this API include SSL certificates from renowned providers such as VeriSign, thawte or RapidSSL. The choice of products ranges from domain-validated low-cost certificates such as RapidSSL or SSL123 to Extended Validation (EV) certificates with the green address bar. Even special certificate types such as Code Signing or Wildcard certificates can be ordered through the automated webservice.
There are many advantages of the new interface for providers that require larger quantities of SSL certificates. "Especially resellers benefit twice from the new SSL API," said Alexander Schwertner, managing director at EPAG. "They have cost benefits through the simplified ordering process, and additionally they can enjoy the substantial discounts of our SSL reseller program even faster."
The API allows for parsing and validating the data contained in a CSR as well as for automated polling of the current processing status of a certificate, or retrieving a complete list of certificates. A detailed documentation with examples of how to implement the API in PHP and Java is available.
The provision of this webservice is another step in the systematic expansion of the SSL product offerings at EPAG. Other new products in this area will follow soon.
